On this episode of Labor and Healthcare Confidential host Marianne Pizzitola talks with Work-Bites contributor Bob Hennelly about the creation of a special online portal to search soon-to-be-released 9/11 files related to the air toxicity emanating from Ground Zero following the terrorist attack on New York City in 2001.
Government officials infamously declared the air over lower Manhattan and the surrounding environs safe to breath after the World Trade Towers were reduced to ruins 25 years ago.
First-responders and other New Yorkers who answered the call to help and quickly returned to work following the disaster ultimately paid the price with their lives and good health.
Lots of unanswered questions are now swirling around the Mamdani’s administration’s rollout of the upcoming file dump, however. Marianne and Bob start to dig into those questions on this week’s show—and we will continue to dig in the days and weeks to come.
