Turns out, Pope Leo XIII held this quaint 19th century view of the world that says all workers deserve family-sustaining wages “regardless of what the labor market was saying your labor was worth.” Today’s almighty “job creators” may look upon labor as a costly evil entity that must be driven from the holy temples of commerce — but Sinyai argues for the divine nature of work itself, and the lofty role working people everywhere have in God’s grand design. All of which begged the question: What would Jesus do in the event of a general strike?
